Program Objectives

Each program has objectives for achieving the
institutional goals, which are as follows:

Associates of Biblical Counseling and Practical Theology (ABCPT)


1. Students will know the Bible thoroughly
2. Students will identify and practice key principles for interpreting Scripture consistently using a normal, literal-grammatical-historical approach to the various literary genres in Scripture.
3. Students will articulate basic theological concepts using accurate biblical interpretation from a Dispensational perspective.
4. Students will be equipped to evangelize and disciple others at home and around the world
5. Students will be equipped to teach and preach for life-change
6. Students will be equipped to counsel themselves and others from the Bible
7. Students will be able to describe the differences between biblical counseling, as opposed to “Bible-only” counseling, or an integrationist approach to counseling
8. Students will demonstrate ability to utilize a variety of biblically and doctrinally sound resources for counseling
9. Students will be equipped with a commitment to Christ-like leadership for serving the Church and impacting the world
10. Read, write, speak, and research with basic, College-level competencies
11. Think critically, according to a biblical worldview

Associates of Biblical and Ministerial Studies (ABMS)

1. Students will know the Bible thoroughly
2. Students will identify and practice key principles for interpreting Scripture consistently using a normal, literal-grammatical-historical approach to the various literary genres in Scripture.
3. Students will articulate basic theological concepts using accurate biblical interpretation from a Dispensational perspective.
4. Students will be equipped to evangelize and disciple others at home and around the world
5. Students will construct a discipleship plan
6. Students will be equipped to teach and preach for life-change
7. Students will be equipped to counsel themselves and others from the Bible
8. Students will be equipped with a commitment to Christ-like leadership for serving the Church and impacting the world
9. Read, write, speak, and research with basic, college-level competencies
10. Think critically, according to a biblical worldview

Bachelor of Theology

Same as above (ABMS) with a requirement for higher scores (especially on bible knowledge) and with the addition of:
1. Students will demonstrate the ability to prepare and present expository sermons and/or lessons based on sound exegesis
2. Students will be able to describe the development of theological precepts throughout Church history
3. Students will gain experience as a leader in some area of ministry

Bachelor of Biblical Studies (online)

1. Students will have a deep and thorough knowledge of Scripture
2. Students will identify and practice key principles for interpreting Scripture consistently using a normal, literal-grammatical-historical approach to the various literary genres in Scripture.
3. Students will articulate basic theological concepts using accurate biblical interpretation from a Dispensational perspective.
4. Evangelize and disciple others at home and around the world
5. Teach and preach for life-change
6. Students will be able to describe the differences between biblical counseling, as opposed to “Bible-only” counseling, or an integrationist approach to counseling
7. Students will be equipped with a commitment to Christ-like leadership for serving the Church and impacting the world
8. Read, write, speak, and research with basic, College-level competencies
9. Think critically, according to a biblical worldview
