About Dr. Will Varner

Picture
Dr. Varner, a native of South Carolina, came to the Lord at the age of 17. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University,  Biblical Theological Seminary, Dropsie College and Temple University--earning many awards and honors in his studies. He served for 17 years with The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry in New Jersey, and as a pastor in churches in Pennsylvania and California. Dr. Varner has led various groups to Israel--50 trips and counting. Dr. Varner currently serves a Professor of Bible and Greek at The Master's University, Santa Clarita, CA where he also directs the IBEX overseas study program in Israel, and Pastor of the Sojourners fellowship group at Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, CA. He and his wife Helen have two grown children and one with the Lord and four beautiful grandchildren. He has an avid interest in the Civil War and a love for Tolkien’s fiction and Daniel Silva's international espionage novels starring Gabriel Allon. But what he loves most is traveling to England and other countries with Helen because she is so adventurous. Check out an excerpt of Dr. Varner's teaching HERE.

About Dr. Doug Bookman

Picture
Dr. Bookman is a graduate of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, Central Baptist Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. He has served as pastor/teacher at various churches as well as taught at several schools including significant appointments at Pillsbury College, The Master's University, and Shepherds Theological Seminary (STS). During his ministry, Dr. Bookman began to see the need for a renewed emphasis on the life of Christ and the nation of Israel. In 1987, while at The Master's University, he conceived, designed, and implemented the IBEX program, a semester-abroad program in Israel. In 1998, Dr. Bookman joined the Friends of Israel as a national representative. Dr. Bookman currently serves as a faculty member at Shepherds Theological Seminary where he teaches in the area of New Testament Exposition and heads up the student recruitment of the school. He and his wife, Diane, have three children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys spending his time teaching on both Israel and the life of Christ, leading numerous study trips to Israel (which includes an annual trip specifically designed for STS students) and speaking at Bible Conferences across the United States and abroad. Check out an excerpt of Dr. Bookman's teacher HERE.
